Meet Dr. Ronald C. Childs

Dr. Ronald Childs is a board certified orthopedic spine surgeon in Fairfax, Virginia whose practice is devoted to management of spinal disorders. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive and cervical spinal surgery. Dr. Childs' goal is to provide state of the art care to Fairfax and surrounding communities.

Dr. Childs earned a BA in Psychobiology from Boston University before going on to complete his medical degree and orthopaedic surgery residency at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Following three years as an orthopaedic surgeon on active duty in the United States Army, he then pursued additional training in Chicago where he completed a spine surgery fellowship program at Rush-Presbyterian—St. Luke's Medical Center.

Dr. Childs has served in several hospital leadership positions including Assistant Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery, Chief of the Quality Assurance Committee, and Chief of the Division of Spine Surgery at Inova Fairfax Hospital where he currently serves as the Medical Director.

Dr. Ronald Childs is a member of OrthoVirginia and Medical Co-Director of The Inova Spine Program.
