Dr. Scott Tromanhauser, MD, Newton, MA, 02458
Scott G. Tromanhauser, M.D., received his BA degree in Biology from State University of New York at Buffalo and his medical degree from the Albany Medical College. After receiving his education, Dr. Tromanhauser completed an internship in General Surgery and a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Albany Medical Center Hospital. He followed this with a fellowship in Spine Surgery at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. Dr. Tromanhauser also completed his Masters in Business Administration from Northeastern University.
Dr. Tromanhauser was awarded the North American Spine Society Clinical Traveling Fellowship in 1996. He was a member of the United States Army Reserves Medical Corp for 12 years serving as Staff Orthopaedic Surgeon. Most of that time was spent at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC.
Dr. Tromanhauser co-founded Cortek, Inc., a medical device company whose spinal fusion products are based on his patents. The company has since been acquired by Alphatec, Inc. He also founded Intelligent Outcomes, LLC; a health services company that creates medical decision support tools using an Artificial Neural Network platform. He is the Medical Director of the Best Doctors(r) Occupational Health Institute, working to improve the quality of care for patients suffering from work-related injury.
Dr. Tromanhauser has interests in developing predictive modeling using Neural Networks for the formation of clinical decision support tools. He has been involved with new innovations in spine surgery for the last 15 years and has introduced most of them to the Boston medical community. He is actively involved in spinal treatment research and participates in ongoing FDA-sanctioned trials of new spinal devices. He has helped train more than 25 orthopaedic surgery and neurosurgery spine fellows and countless orthopaedic surgery residents.
Dr. Tromanhauser and his colleagues regularly present original research and teach at national and international scientific and educational conferences.
