Dr. Shane Burch, MD, San Francisco, CA, 94143
Dr. Shane Burch is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of spinal tumors, spinal deformity and degenerative conditions of the spine. He currently has clinics at the Parnassus Campus, UCSF Medical Center, the UCSF Helen Diller Comprehensive Cancer Center and UCSF Marin Outreach Clinic. He has an active research program that includes: Neurophysiology, Degenerative and Developmental problems of the spine, biophotonics and outcomes based research. He has won several awards for his research and has a cross appointment as a research scientist at the Center for Biophotonics, Science and Technology, UC Davis.
Dr. Burch earned a medical degree at the University of Toronto and completed a residency in the division of orthopedics at the University of Toronto, followed by a spine fellowship at UCSF. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and member of the Canadian Medical Association. He is board eligible for the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He is an assistant professor in residence in the department of orthopedic surgery at UCSF.
