Dr. Deno Pappas, MD, Greenwood Village, CO, 80111
As a Physiatrist, I am a medical doctor with four years of specialized training in the evaluation and non-surgical management of problems involving the muscles, nerves, bones, tendons, and ligaments. With a sub-specialty in spine care, I pride myself in providing a thorough evaluation of patients with neck or back problems, educating my patients about their conditions and the various treatment options, and developing and implementing a comprehensive treatment plan. The process starts with assuring an accurate diagnosis through a thorough history and physical examination and, when necessary, use of diagnostic tools such as imaging studies, laboratory tests and electrical/nerve studies. Once a diagnosis is confirmed, I lead and coordinate your spine care, often incorporating a team of other spine-specialized medical professionals. Individualized treatment plans often include:
-Medications which can help ease pain and facilitate a return to function
-Physical therapy to promote stregnth, flexibility and healthier movement patterns
-Prudent use of procedures such as spinal injections to facilitate your rehabilitation
-Complimentary and alternative treatments such as acupuncture, chiropractic or massage treatments when indicated
-And, when necessary, timely referral to one of our fellowship trained orthopedic spine surgeons for those problems not amenable to non-surgical care
My goal, ultimately, is to use these means to alleviate pain, facilitate return to functional and fulfilling activities, and promote healthy lifestyle changes which can prevent future problems.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you navigate through the sometimes confusing and frustrating experience of a spine problem.
