Dr. Rachel Brakke

Physiatrist at The Spine Center at University of Colorado Hospital

Meet Dr. Rachel Brakke

The Spine Center at University of Colorado Hospital specializes in treating people with back and neck pain using proven therapies and the latest technologies. Whether a patient needs physical therapy, medication, spinal injections, surgery, or any combination of approaches, our skilled physicians and staff focus on making our patients feel better, happier and healthier in the safest manner available. In addition, the Spine Center is regularly asked to evaluate second opinion cases.

The Spine Center at University of Colorado Hospital focuses on a collaborative and multi-disciplinary approach among neurosurgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, physiatrists, physical/occupational therapists, psychologists, integrative medicine, and anesthesiologists. As the only academic medical center in the region, the Spine Center is the only provider in the Front Range to take such a comprehensive approach to spine and neck care.

Not only do I focus on the pain and relieving it, my true goal is to improve people’s function. As a physiatrist with specialized training in pain and sports medicine, I am trained to examine patients thoroughly to arrive at a diagnosis. I then focus on conservative therapies to address the pain problem or sports injury. Sometimes this requires therapy, medications, exercise or injections. Since we work closely with surgeons, if your problem needs surgical care, then we have excellent folks to send you to within our same system. If you are willing to be an active participant in your care- then you have found the right provider!

Dr. Rachel Brakke is a Physiatrist with The Spine Center at University of Colorado Hospital.
