Healing Therapy Treatment

If anyone out there if having post op pain around neck, shoulders & back, read this:
I went to a "medical deep layer tissue" guy 2 days ago (not covered by ins). He's oriental & practices a combination of the east & west. He diagnosed my pain as LIGAMENT & TENDON pain back there. All post surgery pains caused from the bodys natural defense mechanism protecting the wound, thus tensing up your entire body. It's commom, and should be worked out asap. He said my shoulder muscle "froze up" very tight, & caused my ligaments not to get any blood to them, thus causing severe pain all back there. He was able to unlock my frozen muscle 70% & get the blood flowing. Ligaments are what protects the "bone to bone" function in your body (google it & you'll see). He said after 1 or 2 more sessions I'll be healed. I have read pages & pages of testimonials written from patients of this guy.
None of the places that the ins. pays for could have done what this guy has done. They just don't know, I guess.
I hope this helps someone!

Method

Hi Julie

Is it a method he uses so I can find someone here? I'm a firm believer in energy flow. I'm working on my Tai Chi now and am getting great relief. The east/west thing is right up my ally.

Acupuncture has never helped me. Maybe because I hate needles. I like that he's a MEDICAL deep layer tissue guy. I'm scared to go to a regular massage therapist.

I'd love to give that a try!

Hey Lynn

I've been thinking about you alot since you went & had your xray. I was praying for you. I knew you were scared, & was bummed out for that. I thought I'd write you after everything calmed down your way. Are you on track with everything now? Sounds as though. I sure hope so.
They guy I went to twice was a medical doctor in Viet Nam - that's where he's from. When he came to the states 20 yrs ago, he studied and practiced the human body, muscles, nerves, etc, everthing that lies beneath our skin. He helps alot of people before & after surgery, also atheletes. You should have no problem finding someone who uses "hands on" healing therapy. I'm thinking a specialists that would have experience would be one that handles injured atheletes & such. Maybe find out who handles the pro football players there. Call & ask around & ask them if they do combination of the east & west. Or something similiar. I'm scared of needles too, & know that I tense up even more when they are inserted. My guy finds a knot & holds down on it for several minutes, releases, then pressure again. Gently. He also finds knots in my back & arms that he releases. He said they were fat cells that have calcified. (I think) He said those cause alot of pain too.
I likes that site you posted on here that explains the muscles, etc. Sounded just like my guy explaining it. "Got to release the flow of blood & fluids".
Take Care & find someone to give you relief. Ahhhh! Im still a little sore, but not in constant pain as before.

Makes sense

Hi Julie!

I'm getting in track with things. My husband wants me to file a formal complaint so the PT's people know to watch him. I'm doing that today uuuuggggg

Not only did he hurt me he used up all my insurance and some of it on things he didn't even do... fun fun fun! I have to wait until December or January before I'll have coverage. My insurance does cover massage so I may go to my regular doctor to get a prescription for massage.

If I can find someone who does what your guy does here and I don't have to go for a long time I'll out of pocket the cost. Right now I'm reading every book I can get my hands on and applying what makes sense for me to my recovery. I learned self massage and a lot of other good things.

I'm starting to study about adjacent segment disease and trying to learn how to avoid that. I really do NOT want to ever have this surgery done again. I'm willing to soften my life style to make sure my discs last until they lay my old bones in my grave LOL

Thanks for answering me!

Lynn

Self Help Books

Very good! I have also learned that there are dif things you can do on your own & at home that just make sense, and don't make you hurt either. Keep up the good work - you are only 3 mos post op today!
Seems the folks at the PT places all use the same practices for the same people. What works for one doesn't always work for another & they don't do a good enough evaluation of yourself. Doesn't make any sense, does it? I'm 6 mos post op tomorrow & we are headed on an island vacation. Packing my heating & ice packs, just in case. LOL...
still some soreness from the whole ordeal-dif areas -walked around like frankenstein for too long.

get a tan!

How fun! Enjoy your vacation and happy 6 months.

Today is my official 3 months. My husband got me a bowflex treadclimber! It comes next week. The weather is getting nasty here in Seattle so walking can get a bit slippery and we know that would be bad...slip oooops and the head falls off LOL

We are a bit like frankenstein you know. Some more than others with the bone grafts. Crazy stuff but we are lucky. Christopher Reeves would have loved to be in our situations. We have a chance and he had none. I remind myself of that every day.

Have a great trip and don't do too much ho-la dancing LOL

PERFECT MASSAGE

Just got off Southwest Air & in their SkyMall magazine they had this massager advertised for sale. Almost as good as a "Deep Tissue Massage Therapist". Go to the website (skymall.com & check it out under "Health & Wellness", called the "Body Back Buddy" for $29.95.

Zack, give it a try

If it works for you and helps you then that is great!.
Its worth a try. So many people claim to do deep tissue massage, when in reality, its nothing more than some muscle relaxers
I get someone defensive when I read about these items that are going to fix everything.
We have ourselves a situation, we know something needs
to happen.
