Off Enbrel, MTX for surgery, pain everywhere

I have surgery scheduled next week on my right hand, for work to be done on my thumb joint. So I had to go off my RA meds, the Enbrel, methotrexate and prednisone. Every joint in my body is starting to scream at me, stiffening and causing more pain.

I can still take my Celebrex and tramadol and extra tylenol, but it's not helping much. I will have to be off these until the incisions heal. There will be two incisions, one at the thumb itself, and one in my arm where they are taking a ligament to use to reconstruct the thumb joint.

It's still a week away, and I know it has to be done. Also, know that I have to be off these for a while, as it was with my foot surgery. I guess I'm just whining!

Good luck with your sugery Marti

I feel for you being off some of your pain meds.....been there, done that. I also take Celebrex and Tramadol for pain. I have osteo not RA along with herniated discs cervical and lumbar. It's hard getting through these tough times, but hopefully the outcome of your surgery will help a little...just keep thinking of that.
