I recently had an appointment with an Arthritis Specialist and it didn't quite go as I expected. I'm looking for some insight.
For those out there who have been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis.
Who diagnosed it? specialist, Ortho, Nero, PM doc....?
What method did they use? Your MRI, X-Rays.....?
Was that information on the radiologist report from those films or did they actually look at the films and see it for themselves?
If you wouldn't mind, could you please share your experiences gaining your diagnosis of OA with me.

My endocrinologist monitors me. I have many of the risk factors although I am still relatively young. I have bone density tests which are really easy.
Good luck!

I wasn't really "diagnosed" as such...but my spine surgeon, while looking at my MRI, pointed out just in passing that there was arthritis in my spine. I don't recall him saying where or if it was all over.
I also have it in my fingers, particularly my thumbs.
Nothing was mentioned in the radiology reports of the 4 MRIs that I had.
Several years ago I went to a rheumatologist who just casually mentioned I had osteo-arthritis -- about the same as most people my age....in other words, not bad enough to "treat" but an annoyance just the same.
As everybody says, "I am not a doctor, nor do I have any formal medical training." Take what I post as knowledge gained from experience.
