I've never had the treatment personally, but have a friend who did. First off, her insurance didn't cover the procedure, so she paid $3000 for 20 visits. She did get very good results for her lower back pain, but here is the kicker....it only lasted for 3 months and then it was back to the same situation.

i had improvement for a while then it got worse. i dont think its worth it and felt i was scammed because i have lots of arthritis and it doesnt work well when you have arthritis. be careful.....pete

IT IS BASICALLY A SIMPLE TRACTION MACHINE AND IT IS USED TO LURE UNSUSPECTING PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC LOWER BACK PAIN INTO SHELLING OUT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS BY COMMITTING THEMSELVES TO 20 OR 25 HOURS OF TREATMENTS WHICH IN MY VIEW RAISES VERY SERIOUS ETHICAL QUESTIONS. THE MANUFACTURER OF THESE MACHINES WILL SELL ONE OF THEM TO ANYONE, QUALIFIED OR OTHERWISE WHO SIMPLY HAS THE MONEY TO BUY ONE SO THAT THEY IN TURN CAN ADVERTISE AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC.

IF YOU WERE USE A TRACTION MACHINE AND I WOULD SUGGEST IF YOU WANT TO TRY THAT METHOD WITHOUT SHELLING OUT LOADS OF YOUR HARD EARNED CASH,YOU SHOULD DO IT IN A PROPER HOSPITAL UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A PROPERLY QUALIFIED PERSON, ANY RELIEF YOU MAY GET FROM TRACTION WOULD ONLY BE TEMPORARY IF YOU HAVE A REAL SPINE PROBLEM IN ANY EVENT.

IF YOU LOOK ON LINE USING THE CORRECT KEYWORDS, YOU WILL FIND LAW SUITS IN MANY STATES AGAINST THE CLAIMS MADE BY THE BOTH THE MANUFACTURER OF THESE MACHINES AS WELL AS THE OPERATORS. YOU WILL ALSO FIND LOTS OF DISGRUNTLED PEOPLE WHO WILL TELL YOU NOT TO WASTE YOUR MONEY ON WHAT MANY OF THEM ARE CALLING A TOTAL SCAM.

LASTLY, THESE MACHINES IN THE WRONG HANDS CAN CAUSE DREADFUL INJURY TO PEOPLE WHO ARE PERFECTLY FIT SPINEWISE, LET ALONE SOMEONE WITH SPINE PROBLEMS. MANY OF THE PEOPLE OFFERING RELIEF FROM BACK PAIN WITH THESE MACHINES ARE EITHER COMPLETELY UNQUALIFIED OR HAVE A DUBIOUS DEGREE OR ANOTHER UNRECOGNISED QUALIFICATION. I have suffered with low back pain for about three years now. I show horses and it started after a couple of falls. I fell and broke my tail bone three years ago but did not find out that I had broken it until a year later when the pain had become severe. About six months ago I started to experience constant lower back pain. I am absolutely miserable. I cannot ride most of the time and the pain has interrupted most everything I do. It hurts to stand, walk, ride, and lay down. My sleep has been affected. I had an Xray done and an MRI which revealed that I have moderate arthritis in the lower spine and a couple of discs which are protruding. I was not given any options, just narcotics which I don't want to take. I started taking glucosamine/chondroitin which has really helped but am still in quite a bit of pain. The pain is the worst in the morning. I have trouble lifting my legs to get my pants on and putting shoes on is really hard. I am only 41 and have become so depressed and feel hopeless. What can I do to make this better or at least tolerable so that I can do the things that I used to?

It looks like a yea olde traction machine.And it was not a cost.But better i would suggest you that You should not have to pay a lot for a treatment over here a traction session is included or costs the same as a standard phsyio appointment. The only sure way to find out if it is effective is to try it out ,that means paying a fee the doctor or therapist, they never lose even if there treatment is a flop.
