6 weeks post laminectomy/fusion and sciatic pain is back

I had a fusion and laminectomy on December 28, 2010 and up until today all had been going far better than I thought it would. However, this morning my sciatic started to bother me again. It is still in the left leg and the pain is no where near as bad as it was but I am really concerned. Could it just be the nerves finding their way again and not cause for alarm?

Hi Ajamieson

ood to hear your surgery is done and you're having less pain. I hope you called the Dr. about the pain in your legs. I hope it's just the nerves awakening. Best wishes for a complete recovery. Charry

Hi Ajamieson

I dont have any wise words for you except, call you Dr. Antime you have something you are unsure of, you need to call. That way you wont stress over something that is part of the healing process. Always ask here too. Alot of experience is here, and maybe someone has the same thing. Good Luck, Robin

I'm glad your first 6 weeks went well, and it could be as simple as nerves waking up, but I agree 100% with the others that you should call your doc, keep him/her informed about all new issues, especially if you are concerned about them. Its better to make a call even if its just for peace of mind, that can take you a long way. let us know how things go.
God bless and keep You... at peace
