Hello from the hospital
Hi all,
Just checking in to let you know that my ns office called this morning, asked for further information, then the nurse said she would talk to the doc and get back to me. she called w/in 15 min. and said I could either go to the er for emergency surgery or be put on the schedule for Monday.
Since my husband is an orchestra HS director, he has a concert mon. eve. and has to be in school on mon.
So here we are. waiting for the doc. Not exactly what I was planning when I got up today.

Yasmina? Did you have a sudden worsening of symptoms? I hope everything goes well and you are well on your way to recovery by the time your husband has his concert on Monday. Perhaps someone can record it so you can hear!

Ms. Humpty Dumpty Took a great fall. L1-L2-L3-L4 - S1 & S2 full herniations. Spinal stenosis, spinal arthritis, degenerative disk, scoliosis. Knees, hips & spine have degenerative bone disease, arthritis and bone spurs. Age 49 - Here to find & offer support. Had bilateral knee replacement surgery done March 15th, 2011

Minimally invasive TLIF & laminectomy for L4/L5 done on 11-03-09. (With PEEK cage, rod, screws, BMP)
Medication: Lyrica, Metanx, Lidoderm patches
It was great being able to talk to you in chat last night as you were awaiting transfer from the ER to your room. I hope you do well with surgery this morning. Please keep us posted as to your recovery when you can.

Not real happy. I think they decided that the incontinence was not related to the back problems. They did do an mri of my lumbar region before I came home. I have a disc of the pics, but of course can't tell anything from them.
The main reason I was so upset about coming home was the way the doc did it. He started yelling at me about not having the right phone #. Well, when I saw him in his office 1 1/2 weeks ago, I updated my records. Plus it was HIS nurse who called ME to go to the er, so how could they not have the right #?? I just didn't appreciate being yelled at for no reason. I cried for over an hour.
So anyway, here I sit waiting for a call from the scheduler, hopefully tomorrow.

Things like this just totally sicken me to the core! I am so sorry you went through this! I had a nurse give my guff like that once and I barked right back at her. I am in a job where I don't take any nonsense, so I get it is a habit for me! Welcome home, take a load off and relax. Try to forget the JERK for a while and relax and enjoy being out of the hospital! Again, I am so sorry this had to happen. It isn't like we don't get enough with the pre surgical and then surgical stress. Sheesh!!!

L2/3/4 & L5/S1 fusions and Laminectomy on hold till neck fused.

and they shouldn't be yelling at you. That's unacceptable behavior! You've got enough going on right now.

I am slightly confused - so you are waiting for a call to get scheduled for surgery after they sent you home & the Dr is upset with you for even going to the hospital
My apologies on being confused - it is easy to happen to me lol
But regardless of my no understanding of the facts - I am so sorry all this is happening to you

problems, so they told you to get to the hospital right away, but then decided not to do the surgery? What the heck is up with that? I hope they can get you in soon. I agree with the others. There was not reason to yell at you.

I called yesderday first thing to make sure they had the right phone number.
At first, they scheduled me in for next Fri., and said if there was a cancellation on tues. they would bump me up. Then she called back an hour later and said they had a cancellation for Mon. So next Mon. it is. I can't wait.
I think the doc was most upset because of the confusion over phone numbers. I was in such shock the way he was yelling at me that I couldn't even respond.
