Levels of Surgery

Hello All,
I here A lot of you talk about levels of surgery. Level 2 or 3 Mostly. I have had 2 c1c2 surgeries 3 months apart. I am almost 3 months post-op and would like to know what What these levels are that you talk about.

Howdy Scott!

It is "levels fused", it is counted based on the disks. For example, my first fusion was at the C5/6 (5/6 - vertebrae bone numbers in the neck), thus it was "one level" (C6 disk). A person is fused say... C5/6/7 they are fused at "2" levels, but 3 bones were set up to be fused. I hope that helps. Take care. Smile

You're very welcome! I think there is a better description on this site. Just do a search for "fusion levels" or something to that effect. The description will probably be more scientific, but basically the same. Take care. Smile
