Spinal Tumor....

Has anyone else ever suffered a spinal tumor or has known someone who has? I am 19 and am about 4 months post op from the removal of a bone tumor that had eaten away part of my C4 vertebra and almost killed me. I had part of that vertebra removed and had a posterior spinal fusion C2-C5.

I know that tumors are not very common but I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has either suffered a tumor of some sort or knows someone who has. It would be nice to know that I am not alone. Thank you!

Hi Kelly, I checked out your

Hi Kelly,

I checked out your links, boy, they are impressive. I am sorry that you have to go through all these at such a young age. But believe me, you are not the youngest person here at this forum, I have read postings from a person as young as 14 years old. So maybe you can find contact with somebody close to you in age, with whom you could discuss similar concerns. Maybe you want to open a new thread "20 or younger" or something like that. Meanwhile, remember that those of us who are older (way older) have been young once, so at a certain level we can relate to you.

Keep up the spirit and and if you need to vent, remeber, we are here.

Hugs,

Hi Kelbel

I real sorry you have to have this so young. I can relate to your dilema.
I have a benign L3 hemangioma (tumor) but the surgeon won't touch it beccause it may cause more problems. All they'll do is keep an eye on it. I just had a TLIF/laminectomy for other problems, and they went in and did what they could. I don't know if this means more surgery for me later; who knows?
I hope you recover from this allright; you have a lot of living to do Smile
