Bad luck

Just before Christmas our car was totaled along with 5 other cars in a parking lot from a drunk driver enraged from someone at the club and smashed our car up and taken down by police. Car is a write off. Just bought a new car 2007 Toyota Yaris because of the good mileage. My husband just called and a taxi just hit him and smashed up the right side of the car. My husband now has neck and back pain. I wasn't in the car and if I was I would have been injured as a passenger where the damage is done. I can't believe all this. Okay I'm really upset just venting. At Wits End Worried

Some times it pours

I always thought I was one of those people that nothing happened to. Well that's all changed now. Seems like anything bad that could happen does happen.

Yell, scream or do whatever makes you feel better. I hope your husband is OK. But make sure he gets checked out right away.

Oh Charry

So sorry to hear about both accidents. Hope your husband does not have significant injuries. I was just reading about your EMG and your worsening pain, and wanted you to know that I'm thinking about you.

Many prayers,

Lisa

How are you both now ?

Charry,
I too have been busy, the police crashed into us, my wife suggested that they had arrived very quickly, I did not have the heart to say it was them who crashed into us, I laughed through the tears. Come on 2012, soon be back to just chronic pain. Yahoo !

I can drive our new car looking in the mirror constantly, oh such skill.

Take care, how is your husband.

Hi John haven't seen you for so long Pal here or the other place

Sorry to hear about the police crashing into you John, and hope you weren't injured..

For us The insurance company wanted us to keep the damaged Yaris in the driveway of our house until an inspector showed up and after 2 weeks my husband got ticked off without his car and no inspector showing up he had the car towed to the Toyota dealer and got it repaired. It came out pretty good and also inspected the airbags in the car since it didn't deploy when husbands side was impacted in front side.

Husband neck alright. If I was in the car I would have sued if I was injured this time.

I was in a car accident right before I injured my back and sure it had to do with 2 drunk guys we hit with the car. Thank God it was witnessed by campus police who just missed them but yay we got them. One ended up with a broken nose. They were also charged with jaywalking, they were running out of a tavern... I thought they were dead when we hit them and actually thought it was one person who broke in half hit at 40 or more mph.

However if I could go back in time I would have . sued these Tourist students but thankful I have work disability.

If you ever get into an accident get checked out at the hospital or Dr, and insist on x-rays for evidence of an injury or what will turn into Degenerative discs due to trauma in the future year. I'm sure the accident I was in, hitting these guys and stopping dead on a dime caused my back injury.

Sometimes those Defensive Driving courses can help protect you and your family from a crash, and also get you a deal on your insurance.

All the best for a Happy New Year and stay safe. Hugs. Charry

Hi,
I jsut saw this and am so sorry your year isn't starting out well but don't give up! I'm glad you weren't in the car either time and hope your husband is ok.
I haven't had the kind of bad luck you are going through but I have been telling everyone that it feels like the sun, moon, and stars in the universe have been out of alignment since the new year! Let's hope everything lines up soon and life treats you better the next 11 months!!

By the way, my son(21 yr) has a '08 Yaris and hydroplaned 4 mo. after he bought it. We thought it was totaled but ins. decided to fix it and it looked like new. FYI, it's a great car! He's put 75,000 miles on it and it runs great with great mileage and all he does is keep up the oil change and tires.I hope you and your husband enjoy your Yaris and have better luck with it from now on!!

Take care of yourself! Stay warm and healthy.

Kathy

Hi Charry!

Oh, boy! Unbelievable!I am so sorry for you and your husband.

Crazy people driving in a way to total your car.. and five others! Everyone alive so that is totally the best Christmas gift ever!

Sorry for the others, but glad you were not there.
Wow! In between all the phone calls and paperwork ... do try to rest best you can. Hopefully, naps where you can just clear your mind.

Thanks for venting. I'm glad to know what's up in your life, my friend!. With all the prayers coming your way, there will have to be some good news soon. Smile

Take care, Charry!

Thanks Everyone

This happened all in 2010 and early January last year! Glad it's all over with but because of finances and all we had to sell our house.

It's not so bad renting but this townhouse is way too old and it's too cold in here for winter. I hope I can find another place around here for next winter. I want to stay by the water and by then hope to be on my own.
