Terrible Day

Hi Pete,

At Wits End Okay, Mr. Macho, glad you posted for a little understanding and sympathy -- You've got it! I've read a lot of your replies to post and you are a very caring person (whether you're macho or not).

Big Hug Sending you a big hug, but not too tight --don't want to increase your pain. Let's see....you've taken all your drugs and no relief...no one home to get the ice for you? I've never suggested this before but what about taking a sleeping aid. Do you think that would put you to sleep so you can get a respite from the pain.

Do you have a pool or access to one? Many people on this website swear that it alleviates the pain. What about a hot shower or soak in the tub? Or, an ice bath? Do any of the over the counter ointments help? (Biofreeze, Icy Hot, etc.) Are you keeping hydrated? Keep drinking - that's important. Have you eaten anything? Probably not because you're in pain but a little food might help or whatever floats your boat. I ususally can get a little food in me on a painful day right after I take a pain pill.

Good luck with your appointment this Friday -- you're driving yourself to Boston (UGH!) I hope you have a driver.

You're having a bad day today but I know tomorrow will be better -- when I get these type of days, I just focus on the future and know that the pain will eventually subside.

Hang in there and sending comforting thoughts your way.

Judy Angel

Actually the neurontin

Actually the neurontin kicked my ass for quite a few hours till just a bit ago, too bad you weren't there to pick up the slack! Gladd you are able to keep a positive attitude going. I find looking and things like this help me out:

Boy: Do not try to open the door; that's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth.

Neo: What truth?

Boy: There is no door.

Hey Pete..

So happy to hear youe date is set for the implant.
Keep an open mind about the stimulator Pete. I am still learning to live with mine. I still have pain in my feet that no matter how high I turn my stimulator, it is still there. I have to have pain meds to have a somewhat "normal" life.
I am lucky that the constant stimulation does not bother me except at night, i have to turn it off then. It keeps me awake no matter how low I turn it.
best of the best to you Pete.

Pete,

That's great your doctor can get it done that way. Well, my husband had to half drag, half carry me to the bathroom which is connected to the master bedroom. He has back problems too but no way near as bad as mine. I don't have a wheelchair but it would come in handy in this type of situation or if I'm somewhere that requires a lot of walking. It looks like I'll miss out on BBQ too Sad

Happy 4th Pete!

Big Grin Party Since you are missing the Bar-b-que, is someone bring the "que" to you? Are you still feeling better than earlier this week?

Hubbie's got the grill going now and, of course, one rain cloud has settled over the back yard and nicely watered my plants (LOL) -- it's already over so no harm done.

I've decided to be patriotic and am making cupcakes for the kids on my cul-de-sac with red, white and blue frosting. How Betty Crocker of me! (ha!)

I didn't sleep last night (for whatever reason) so I'm kind of punch drunk right now and I'm sure I'll be up late calming down my dog who freaks out and becomes a barking zombie when the fireworks go off.

Oh, great news about getting you appointment scheduled for September.

Take care and Happy Fourth!

Judy

Hi to you and don't forget we are all here with you sending positive thoughts. You are not alone. I am out here too and having a terrible time. The hopelessness is overwhelming at times. Constant pain is depressing, right? Now it's time to surrender to this for the time being, and know that change will eventually come. Its time for us to have hope and pray that tomo will give us the strength to seek the answers we need. Keep strong, eat, sleep to escape for a few hours and know U R not alone.

I don't know what "cow tipping" is, but I do know at our local small town rodeo, we have an event called cow chip frisbee. Bet you can guess what that is. You just have to be sure the ones you use are really dry Rolling On The Floor Winner is based on distance thrown. Lots of fun to substitue your neighbor's "chips" Big Grin . Enjoyed the visual picture of you on the floor. Hope you are better soon.

Hi Pete

I haven't posted on this thread before now, but wanted to say "Hi" and I hope you're feeling better. I've noticed that since you've joined SH you've really been supportive and helpful.

You're really the kind of person that helps make this site work. I hope you got some good food in ya yesterday for Independence Day even though you couldn't make it to the BBQ.

Take care and hope you're feeling better.
