"Wet Feet" feelings?!?! Funky!

Howdy all,

A while ago I posted about feeling like warm liquids "fell" on my lap. A warm wet feeling, like spilling something.

Okay, tonight, this is new and weird. My hubby had done something in the kitchen, then went off to bed (he gets up at 3am). I walked out to the kitchen to get something to eat, when all of a sudden, my right heal felt like I stepped into something wet. For a second, I thought my hubby spilled his drink a little and I stepped in it. I raised my foot, and it was dry! I blew it off and grabbed my eats...

I start heading down the hallway and all of a sudden the front of my foot felt 'wet', again like I stepped in something on the floor - nope, dry! It's now done that 2 more times tonight. It is the weirdest feeling..wet foot, nope! I have issues (dermatome wise) L5/S1, so wondering if that level is causing this? Really strange.

Now I am wearing socks. The master bedroom is carpeted, and the kitchen, dining area, hallways are tiled. It hasn't happened on the carpeted surfaces yet, only the smooth tile. Funky... Thanks for listening.

Brenda

Wer Feeling

I have neuropathy in both my feet and legs. All my issues are from my knees down and into both feet. My fusion is at L4&L5 with severe DDD above my fusion.

There are times my feet or it can be my legs feel wet. Like you, I check them and they are dry!!
I have come to realize it is the neuropathy causing this wet feeling.

I have talked to one person(an elderly gentelman) who said his legs and feet feel wet ALL the time. Love his heart. Like you say, it IS a yucky feeling. He was desperate for help and I hope and pray he was able to get the help he wanted and needed.

I also pray that this "wet" feeling does not become a permanent thing for either of us!!

Cheers :H

Soon you will probably

Soon you will probably experience this same feeling with your socks on, and one of the bad things about that (to me) is that even knowing my slippers/socks are dry, I am never convinced until I actually reach down to feel it. In my case it is the nerves in my feet causing this, and though it isn't worse than my painful feet, it does get irritating (never quits bothering me).

Pat

Thanks so much, now I feel a little better. Prior to last night, I would get the feeling of something warm (not hot) being spilled on the front of my thighs. I still get that, but the feet feeling wet is even more noticeable.

It is still doing it today. Now my thighs have diagnosed neuropathy, but my feet radiculopathy? I guess the nerves don't care for titles though! (G)

I guess instead of wet feet, I could have pain, so I have that blessing I can count. It is just soooo weird! Wishing the same as you, that it goes away! Thanks Pat!! Smile

Socks

Robin,

I'm wearing socks today, and it's happened again today! It seems to only happen on firm smooth surfaces. Not on the carpeted areas yet. I just hope this isn't a preamble to pain. Our bodies are such wonderful and complex critters! (G)

oh ya

I hate that feeling. For me it feels like I am wearing a cold soggy wet sock. Of course I too always reach down to check it and yep it is dry.

My issues include L5/S1 (the worst) and L3/L4 L4/L5. I think it is related to the L5/S1??

Definately a strange feeling, glad it's not there all the time.

Wet

Karen,

I am guessing mine is from the L5/S1 because my other issues are L2/3/4 (L2&3 nerve roots affected) and those nerves don't go down to the feet, whereas the L5 does.

I'm getting my wet feelings on the heels and balls of my feet. More in the right, but a little in the left, and mine feels like "room temperature" wet spots. Have you noticed a difference if you are on carpet or smooth floors?

I get

the feeling mostly in the balls of my foot, toes, and top of my foot.(left foot)

I have smooth surfaces throughout my home, but also get the feeling when I am curled up on the couch under a blanket.

I haven't had the feeling as much lately, but think that may be due to the fact that my foot is losing more feeling with the numbness? Sigh

Brenda, you feel the wet feeling more in your feet than your thigh now. Are your issues at L5 (laminectomy) going to be dealt with sooner than the L2/3/4(fusion)?

Wet

Karen,

The wet feelings in my thighs are like once or twice a day, and the feet since last night are getting more and more frequent. Something had to have changed yesterday. I don't feel any increases in pain in my back, so dunno. Sitting here typing this the bottom of my feet 'feel funny' - can't even describe it. This is freaky.

I see my Neurologist on July 1st to go over everything (and he may test the L2/3/4 nerves - not sure) I have a feeling the L5/S1 is more pressing (no pun intended) than the L2/3/4?

My Neurologist didn't seem to excited about my developing incontinence issues when I last told him of my "accidents" and such, as well as not being able to totally empty. If my feet switch from 'wet' to pain, I will take my butt to the ER for a Cauda Equina evaluation. From what I've read of it, I am not going to play with that puppy! Just a lot of changes in just a couple of weeks.

This spine stuff sucks, but it sure isn't a boring ride!

It sure

does suck, but never a boring moment with changes that happen.

Glad that you are going to see your neurologist on the first, especially with incontinence issues.:( sorry you are now dealing with that on top of everything else. Don't hesitate to try to get in earlier if you continue to have "accidents" or they increase. Also if feelings in feet turn to pain.

I too will take the cold wet feeling over pain in my feet anytime.

MRI

Karen,

The L5/S1 was a major surprise. I'd had symptoms (toes going numb, weird cramps in my feet) for months. I was confused because until this last MRI, I "only" had problems at the L2/3/4 levels, and they didn't match my feet. So the MRI at least validated to me I wasn't loosing my mind! (G)

I thought getting the feelings of something warm spilling on my thighs was weird enough, but the feet - that feeling tops the thighs!
