What type of dr?

After being dismissed by my surgeon for irreconcilable differences (him being a cocky xxx and me being a patient who likes a compassionate dr), I find myself wondering who to go to??? I see a pain management dr right now, but I woul like to try for disability, since condition is inoperable.

Being that I am not a surgery candidate, what type of dr should I go to? Is my pain management doc enough, or should I still be under the care of a specialist as well?
