How do you determine if you have fibro or back pain, or both. I injured my back, but since have pain all over from nect to ankles now. Is this wear and tear, back problems, fibro. I am a guy so I know this is rare, but hurt all over.
Herniated T6-7 impinging on cord. Annular tears in T5-6 and T7-8, DDD and smorls nodes throughout thoracic. Small herniation in C2-3 and buldge at L 4-5.
"A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove . . . . but the world maybe different because I was important in the life of a child."
Here is a good link to article and some related links on the page as well. Hopefully this helps.

Though there is no blood test for fibromyalgia, blood tests are important to exclude other medical conditions. Therefore, thyroid hormone and calcium blood levels are obtained to exclude hypercalcemia, hyperparathyroidism, and hypothyroidism. The blood alkaline phosphatase (a bone enzyme) level is often raised in patients with Paget's disease of the bone. The CPK (a muscle enzyme) level is often elevated in patients with polymyositis, a disease with diffuse muscle inflammation. Therefore, obtaining alkaline phosphatase and CPK blood levels can help the doctor decide whether Paget's disease and polymyositis are the causes of bone and muscle pains. A complete blood count (CBC) and liver tests help in the diagnosis of hepatitis and other infections. A blood vitamin D level can detect vitamin D insufficiency.
Fibromyalgia can occur alone or in association with other systemic rheumatic conditions. Systemic rheumatic conditions refer to diseases that can cause inflammation and damage to numerous different tissues and organs in the body. Systemic rheumatic conditions associated with fibromyalgia include systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, polymyositis, and polymyalgia rheumatica. Blood tests which are helpful in evaluating these diseases when they are suspected include erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), serum protein electrophoresis (SPEP), antinuclear antibody (ANA), and rheumatoid factor (RF). In patients with fibromyalgia without associated systemic illnesses, the ESR, SPEP, ANA, and RF blood tests are usually normal.

If you think that you are experiencing symptoms of fibromyalgia. I would definitely seek a doctor's advice. I think that if you are in that much pain you should definitely get treated. Are you still experiencing all of this pain?
From 2 docs a neuro and rhuemo both said I have it, however they say it is my secondary condition. My leg issues they haven't figured out yet.
Most docs give you a thru-all exam and run a lot of labs to rule out lupus and such other things.
They also during exam check out the trigger point there are a total of 18 I had 11..
It is a horrible thing to have and all sorts off things set off flare ups.
I keep a journal of what I eat and things I do daily and I found not just the weather for me but stress brings on so much trouble for me.
