I have had back surgery (fusion) about a year ago. I have also had both rotator cuffs repaired since 2006 and another disectomy (back ) in 2005. I feel like now everything hurts.. I don't understand why but I was wondering if being in pain for a while can cause fibromyalgia? I do take elevil and percocet along with soma for muscle spasms. Any thoughts would be welcome. No doctor has even mentioned this to me but maybe I need to mention it to them. Thanks in advance.

Traci,
I used to belong to a fibromyalgia support group, the agony some people suffer along w/other problems is amazing. A rhumetologist is the doc who would diagnose fibro. I had 18 of 18 points that they check for fibro. Often related to arthritis and according to some docs, can be set off by other pain related problems. A great web site is"The American Pain Foundation" and "Chronic Pain". There is a lot of info on the web. I put a pain/fibro cd together for all the members of the group 2 years ago b4 they disbanded.
I have had more than 12 surgeries and countless procedures for spine, joint, eyes, etc. and currently on high doses of pain meds. After my upcoming two more spine surgeries next month, I hope to get some pain relief and reduce meds.
Fibro can be very tricky at times and the people around you may not understand. I have some great info, I need to figure where I can post it so others could benefit from my hours of research.
Good Luck,
Rick
