i have mutiple (8+) compression fractures in my spine. most of them are in the thoracic area. they are all 4 or 5 years old at least. they have caused severe kyphosis and deformity which has caused all kinds of other problems; acute chronic pain, difficulty breathy, rib fractures, loss of 8 inches or more in height..
So far I cannot find a doc that will even consider surgery. I've tried all other forms of treatment and currently see lots of specialists as a fprm of damage control. However, I am only 28 and am concerned about living this way for the rest of my life. Does anyone know of any docs, surgeries or treatments that may help?
Also, my osteoporosis is somehwat of a mystery. I was diagnosed with it at 17 and for a time it was severe, so severe that the docs said they's never seen anything like it, not even in elserly patients. They ultimately determined that it was caused by the juvenile rheumatoid arthritis I've had since age 2. However, the RA was mild, and they'd never seenanyone my age with anything like it, even from RA or RA meds (mine was not from the meds, i never took steroids) I am looking for anyone else out there who may have a similar story...
