Hello, I'm new to spine health and was looking for some information.
My boyfriend had surgery for scoliosis when he was 15. He is now 22. The surgery went fine but he has always had back pain. He describes it as a "constant pain that he deals with", but sometimes it makes him unable to go to work or even walk around the house. He loses sleep because he can't get comfortable, and over the counter pain killers don't help.
He can not exercise because it causes him pain. We do not have health insurance and we make just over the line for government aid. So professional help is not an option.
How can I help him deal with this? It frightens me that he is in this much pain.
Maybe check into any of the Universities near you and see if they have teaching hospitals. Also research some of the scoliosis sites because lots of times you will find they have links to support for uninsured patients.
Kindest Regards,
