Hi everyone! I am 25 and went to the doctor's office today because I was having recent back pain on the right side. I wasn't able to get into the actual doctor, but instead seen the PA (which I am not comfortable with). I told him my symptoms and he said I just pulled a muscle over the weekend (which I did nothing out of routine). He also stated that a 2010 CT scan of my abdomen showed the start of spinal stenosis and left it at that. Once I got home, I started researching it. The past few months I have not been able to lay on my right side due to my right leg going completely numb. The more I think about it, should I set up an appointment with my actual doctor to discuss this further or leave it be? I have been taking Ibuprofen, Tylenol, and using heat, but it is not relieving the pain. I will take any info/advice I can get. Thank you!!
Just because you are 25 does not mean you don't have a serious back problems. A lot of doctors brush off people our age because it is not as common to have a serious back condition and usually it is just a pulled muscle. If you think its more (which i know you do) make an appointment with your regular doctor- or a specialist and get an MRI to figure out what the problem is.
24 years old. Started having neck and shoulder pain around age 18.

It seems like time to see a doctor to really be evaluated. Be prepared with information and questions. Tell them about all your symptoms, how long you've had each of them. Indicate what you've tried to relieve your symptoms, and the extent to which each helped your problems.
Keep the faith...

I am sure you will find excellent information on this site as well as getting the opportunity to discuss your situation with other members.
Spinal problems do not discriminate regarding age. Most people believe you dont start to have back problems until later on in life or due to some trauma.
We all know that is not true. Spinal stenosis can affect different areas of the spine, plus there are different degrees of stenosis.
My best advice for you is to do as much research as you can on Spinal conditions, starting with Spinal Stenosis. Spine-Health offers detail information in Spinal Stenosis
