Future three level ACDF

I am new to the site. I have read many blogs here and on other sites re: Multi-level ACDF. Most seem rather negative re: this procedure. A bit of history: I am a 54 year old male and in Feb / Mar 2005 had Epidural Steroid Injections for pain, numbness and tingling in shoulders, arms and hands. (Diagnosis after MRI was DDD). It was a total success, I was asymptomatic until mid 2008 when symptoms started to gradually return. This time, Jun / Jul 2009, ESI did nothing and I had a second MRI done. Referred to Neurosurgeon with great reputation who showed and explained the MRI to me as follows: Disc bulging at C 4/5 5/6 and 6/7, impinging on spinal cord. No CSF around cord at these levels. Spinal nerves compressed at these levels. Let me say here that I am an avid dirt-bike and ATV rider, note I didn't say "good", I have taken a few spills, broken tailbone once and plenty of soreness and stiffness from crashes. My NS says he would quit off-roading with or without the surgery but he knows I probably won't do that! If I didn't engage in this activity he would suggest starting with PT to see what happens; however, since I do have this lifestyle he recommends the three level fusion with artificial grafts and instrumentation. (Also purchase and wear neck brace when off-roading in the future). I am returning to see him on Oct 12th and need to make a decision re: surgery. Sorry for such a long post but I would like some knowledgeable feedback prior to Monday the 12th. Thankx to all of you.
