achilles tendonitis ankle
i was hoping for some one to tell me i have been told that i have achilles tendonitis in my left ankle i have had this from 18/8/2009 i am in a lot of pain and cant sleep of a night i am awake every hour they gave me a beckbook to wear but there is still lots of pain can anyone tell me our long will i be like this

I read your other post re: your husband and you seem to be going through the wars at the moment! Unfortunately tendons are almost worse than bone breaks, so whilst a bone takes approx 6 weeks to heal, tendons can take an awful lot longer depending on how much use they get, so if you 'treat it well', it could heal a lot more quickly.
I had tendonitis in my arm when younger and it took 6 months to heal, but then I was silly and used it all the time! The main thing is rest which is hard I know, especially when you're looking after others.

I did about 2 weeks of PT working on stretching and strengthening. Then it was into the pool to do more of the above.
It took about 6 weeks before I really felt completely better.
But that was my case, everyone is different
