:H =)) :))( :SS :W I'm 21 and have had back pain for 6 years. The past 2 years, I've found myself becoming more and more limited in my daily activities to arrive at the point I'm at now. I didn't go to the doctor for the first 4 years and the pain was not always constant until about 3 years ago. I have a broad-based foraminal disc protrusion at L5-S1 and foraminal stenosis and blah blah blah. I've done a lot of research on this but I'm still confused as to the exact definition. Is it bulging or is it herniated? I'm well versed in the area of back pain (I'm in the profession now!) and I've done everything under the sun to try to help it over the past 2 years. I've hit a wall on the getting better road. I've had knee surgery, only took ibuprofen, was back to school in 2 days (I had surgery on a Friday) and I was FINE!!! Now I'm taking 60mg Vicodine and 300mg Lyrica and I can barely go to work or school! I have plenty to complain about but I'm working on keeping this short and sweet. Thank you all for your input...

  • :) hi and welcome to the forum! :H we are here to offer you support and answer what questions we can. i began my pain journey at 15 myself. i know what you have missed and the feelings you are having over it. i admire you sticking with conservative measures but how much pain can you take? that is the question you have to answer now. i am on 300mg of Lyrica as well. it has helped my sciatica. i am sorry it is not helping you. :''( perhaps you will fond some solutions here to help you feel better. good luck! Jenny :)
  • I really hate to see people here that are so young. It is horrid to suffer in chronic pain at any age but at least I was 42 when my pain started and I did get to enjoy my youth without these limitations. What type of docs do you see for your pain? If your meds are not doing the trick maybe you need to try a different med?
