Hi,

I had the right side done back in August and was planning to have the right done again (because the pain is starting to return) within the next month. BUT this morning when I woke up my left SI joint and hip is hurting really bad and its happening just like the right one did. Can I have both sides done at the same time??

Thanks,

  • Hi Karenc, I'm getting ephinephrine injections. I had about 8 shots today and all on either side of my spine. I don't think it's the same thing as yours. Maybe someone else can help.I Wish you well though.

  • When I had my RT side SI joint dont the nurse at first thought I was getting both done. She said it is more common for patients to get both the RT adn LT side SI joint done during the same visit. So it is a very common procedure to have both done. I had my RT side done I never got relief from it. I am now having the L5 done once again but in a different area. The injections taht I have had have never worked for me, unfortunately. I am glad that you get some relief from them. Either I keep getting injections in the wrong area, sinceI have had 5+ of them, or they just dont work for me.
    Good luck! MJ
  • I am having my first SI joint injections. I have had many many steroid injections that like MelissaJo, have never worked. Maybe this time. I have had 2 fusions in 6 months, the most recent L1-L5 and now I am having SI joint pain, hence the upcoming injection(s).

  • yes i just found out from my dr that i can have both sides done at once. i go to see her tomorrow and i am going to have her set that date up for me. but that raises another question. do these injection cause bone deterioration?
  • I had a bilateral 3 weeks ago at it worked great got almost 2 weeks out of it . had asecond one done today, sore but a lot better than this morning. now i am going for the bilateral RFA on Oct 6th
  • that's great! i got about 5 weeks out of this first one i did. so i am hoping for a good outcome on this second go around. my dr said that after this injection the next step would be the radiofrequency and she said that its possible to get up to a year of relief! i sure hope so, that would be awesome! good luck with yours!

hope you feel better real soon!
