Hi everyone, thanks for having me here. I thought maybe if I found a group of people who are suffering with the same problems that I am maybe that would help some with the mental stress of pain.

I had a L4 L5 fusion and 3 discs worked on and I think this could be the worst thing I ever did for myself.

I am now having major pain in my hips, no rest and the mental stress of it all is just killing me as bad as the pain is. My doctors just keep telling me the pain will go away but it is now going on 6 months and the pain is still there and becomes a 8 or 9 on the pain scale.

Anyone else suffer this pain in their hips? and if so what was done for it?

I am really starting to miss out on my life, I had the surgery to get my life back but do less now it seems because I am in more pain with my back and now hips.

Thanks for letting me rant

  • I am so sorry to hear of your pain. I have heard so many horror stories about failed fusion surgery making things worse. I also had a failed surgery last year and wish that I would have found this forum first. I would not have gone through with the surgery. I do have pain in my hips. The only thing that I can really do is rest, heat and ice. I did find a microwaveable back wrap at the pharmacy that helps alot. You heat it in the micro and strap it around your waist (velcro),it gives moist heat which is the most helpful kind. You can actually sleep with it on because it can not burn. Also, I was fitted for a lumbo sacral back brace that has been a lifesaver for me. You may want to check with doc about one. Good luck to you and please keep us posted.
