4-Month Check Up After Fusion Surgery

Got really good news today at my 4-month post op. Dr. said everything really looks great. The x-ray showed "puffy things" around where the fusion was done and he said that by Jan. I should see the fusion occurring. He told me to stop using the brace and I can even start bending over a bit as long as I keep the arch in my back when doing so. I am so excited...even as about a week ago, I wondered if I would ever get better. Now it feels better and better each day. All I really have now are muscular pains, but no pains from where the incision was. Weight limitation was increased to 15-20 lbs.--now I can pick up my grandson! Yeah!

I know I'll have to be careful still and that I'll probably have additional muscular spasms as I start using muscles I haven't used in 4 months, but nothing I can't handle. There really is a light at the end of this long tunnel, and it isn't another train!
