Hi, I'm new obviously....nice to meet you all. After 10+ years of back pain, I finally had a laminectomy/discectomy 5 weeks ago. I can't believe the pain is gone. It's so weird. In the recovery room, it was just ....gone. I mean, it still hurts at the site sometimes when I overdo it(which is pretty often since I have a 7 and a 2-year old). Maybe I should have gone into the newbies/introduce yourself section but, I figured that since I've already had the surgery, I would just dive right in. :H

  • =D> That is such nice news. It is
good to hear positive surgery stories as well as the ones that don't turn out so good. I am facing surgery in March and always appreciate when there are good stories to read too. My sister-in-law felt so good 6 months after her laminectomy that she decided to help her friend bale hay one day - big mistake. She is now back to having pain again. The doctor told her that she would feel much better and warned her about overdoing it - so be careful! I have not been on here long, but I will extend a welcome to you. :D >:D<
  • Welcome to SP...you will find great support and good information here. I'm so glad you have a success story to tell. Just continue to be good to yourself and don't overdo!
