I never knew someplace like this existed! Hi everyone, my name is Meg. I am 24 years old and live in Dublin, Ireland right now. I just had my second back surgery which was very serious and I had my first after a serious show jumping fall when I had just turned 20.

right now I'm dealing with chronic pain, weight gain, side affects from pain medicine, etc.

It is really touching to read everyone's stories and I am so happy I found a place where there are people that understand.

I look fine from the outside and it's really hard for people who haven't been through it to understand the pain and immense struggles that go along with having back pain and surgery/surgeries. I can't count the number of times a friend has said, not thinking; "I know how you feel, I had a pinched nerve before, it hurts!"

I'm struggling right now with pain management and I'm going to post in that forum to see if someone has any advice.

Thanks for listening guys.

Your friend in both pain and recovery,
Meg

I just love it when people tell me that they know how I feel. I want to say "Really? I don't see a scar on your neck. Your surgeon must have been really good!" You can't know it until you go through it. That's what I say.
