Hello all, my name is Ron, I just had surgery Nov 18th, they did #5 and 6, replaced with man made bone and put a titanium plate in. I never had to wear a collar. I'm doing really well except the pain between by shoulder blades and pain in right upper arm. Did any of you have this and if so how long did it last? I'm working now also working out at gym trying to relieve some pain. While I work out it doesnt seem to bother it at all. Please tell me this pain is normal and will go away. Thank you and hope all of you are doing good.

Nov 18th and you are working out at a gym!! Unless you are some type of superman that is WAY TOO EARLY to do anything but exercises that have been outlined by your physician and physical therapist.
You do not want to do something that could disturb the fusion process. Do you have the approval of your doctor to work out at a gym?
I have never heard anyone doing anything more than prescribed exercises for the first 8 weeks or so

had same type surgery nov 13 i too and most of us had this pain due to the way position us for surgery. my daughter rubbed my neck and shoulders for over a week to get a quarter sized knot out. if she had not the pain may have lasted longer. so have someone rub the knots out and that should do it. worked for me. i do still have some shoulder pain but it should goo away in time.
