Surgical site itching long after surgery

Anyone experience the fusion site itching when they stretch? It itched a lot around 8-12 weeks, then went away, but I'm again noticing the whole incision site getting itchy lately (1 year post-op) whenever I do any lower back stretches. Why would this be? What does it mean? Is it normal?

  • It sounds like healing, but I can't be certain. It could be that you are getting some feeling there in the nerves along the incision site.I haven't had spinal surgery, but that happened to me with my other incisions, and still does actually.Even my old ones get itchy sometimes.
