Hello All, Been on this site many times-decided to join in.Have filed for SSD in Aug 08,they sent me to a Dr. to be evaled and x-rays of r shoulder and r knee as I have OA everywhere.Was wondering if this is a good thing or not as I filed with back issues.Also, I am 55 and want to know if this will make any difference in their decision. ,Thanks,Jackie R.Hip Replacement 2002,Sciatica in R Leg,Sciatca in L leg2007,3 ESI injects-no relief.L leg finally gave out in April 08 MRI April 08 Laminectomy L-4,L-5,S-1,S-5 Extensive foraminotomy L-5 root,S-1 root,inferior L-4 root on left side April 08 left leg below knee feels like a wooden leg with terrible burning.Dr. says I need a shoulder replacement and of course the knees are going.Still many back issues.


  • Since you are over 50 it will be very helpful to you. I was sent for a medical eval also when I first filed. They considered me 100% disabled but did not think that it would last at least 1 year. I am 46 (45 when I applied 1 year ago) I am currently waiting for my hearing with an administrative law judge. There is a very nice member here that worked with Social Security Disability for about 10 years that is just great at answering our queations. I am sure that she would not mind if you PMd her with questions. Her name is jeauxbert.
