I just want to remind everyone that not everyone online is who they say they are. You have no idea who anyone is and no way to verify it. You have no idea that I am an ER nurse(I really am but you don't know that) or that someone who says they are a dogcatcher is really a dogcatcher.

I just want to advise everyone to not take what they read at face value-do your own research and make your own decisions. People can be anyone they want to be online. Laypersons can be very educated and can be more helpful in explaining things in easy to understand terms than sometimes physicians can sometimes. I think that is wonderful and it's great how we can all share our experiences. But please, just remember that some serial killer could pose as a medical professional online and even wnat to meet up with you. Smarter people than us have been fooled.

Good day to everyone.

  • Hello Ernurse,

Very true. Thanks for reminding us.

I was on another health forum back several months ago in which someone was really trying to come across as a medical professional. Something just didn't seem right. So I wrote the person a PM and inquired as to his medical training, etc. He fested up after several weeks and said all he had was a course in first aid when he was in the Boy Scouts.

He was quite a con artist.

Honestly I have not gotten that "uneasy" feeling here on SH. In fact some of us now and then state very specifically that we are NOT doctors. I surely am not one.

You are quite correct in my opinion that we spineys in some cases have a better understanding of spinal issues than the docs at least seem to have.

    Take care.
