I am so thankful that I found this place. I just got my MRI results and frankly I am scared. C5-6 anterior and posterior marginal spurs are present. Eccentric spurring and disk bulging is this level extending from the paracentral region laterally to encroach upon the lateralrecess. There is also narrowing of the spinal canal and abutment of the spinal cord at this level. There is a displacement of the exiting nerve root on the left. A stenotic lateral recess and neural foramen is seen by the spur formation and disk protrusion at this level C6-7 small marginal spurs are present at this level without significant encroachment on the lateral recesses or neural foramina , though mild narrowing is present on the left. Facet mild hypertrophic bone formation is also present. My lumbar results are worse and need a knee replacement too. Will I ever ride a jetski again or be able to garden? Any help would be appreciated.

  • Welcome to Spine Health!

There isn't anyway for any of us to tell you what your future has in store for you. The best thing I can tell you is to find a surgeon you trust and do everything that he/she tells you. MOST people who have surgery for spine problems get relief so please don't feel discouraged while reading some of these postings- all the healed folks are off doing all the fun stuff!

Please let us know what your doctor says and the course of action they recommend. We may be able to give you some helpful hints to stay more comfortable during your spinal journey.

  • Welcome to spine-health,have you seen a surgeon yet?
  • Thank you,
I have not seen a surgeon yet, next week.
