This is my first time here. After reading a bunch of posts, I think I've found the right place! I had a microD L5-S1 in July 2007. I had so much pain and numbness on my left side that I couldn't stand it anymore and went ahead with the surgery. When I woke up, the pain and numbness were gone - it was great! Unfortunately, 3 weeks later, that same pain running down my butt and into my hamstring and the numbness in my left heel returned. I knew the disc had reherniated. I had an MRI that confirmed my fears. The doc said I should try PT, which I've been doing on and off for the past year and a half. Long story short...I had a bit of a relapse a couple months ago and returned once again to PT. I was actually feeling a bit better until last Monday when I slipped on a patch of ice and landed on my tailbone/butt. Ironically, the patch of ice was right outside the entrance to my PT clinic! I'd find that amusing if I weren't so mad about the fact that they didn't put salt down! So I've just taken about 20 steps backward in my recovery.
I'm wondering if there is anyone else out there who has fallen like this and had a recurrance of pain/numbness/etc.
