  • Shirley,
I have never been on this forum until I found it before my surgery in Dec. I had wished I knew about it cause I dealt with back pain for 2 1/2 years before theey could figure out what was wrong. I think if it is gonna be that long, I would demand going to pain dr. At least to get some releif until you get to surgeon. I was at one for about 1 1/2 years and it helped me as it was really trying waiting to get some answers. I hope you get some answers to your problem soon. It is hard to deal with day in and day out. Keep me posted as to how you are doing. I will be thinking of you.
  • Sorry no one read your post, sometimes the lower back section, people just dont answer the posts...i hope you can see your surgeon..take care...
  • Your post was up for 3 hours.. I was at my 2nd opinion Ortho appt. Give it some time to be answered. Sometimes posts are missed and you have to repost because there are so many posts up. Perhaps your PCP can order the MRI so that if it's urgent the Ortho would see you faster. My Family Dr. or PCP sent me for an MRI. Good luck if you came back to read your posts. I don't think I'm clickish as we're all in this ship together. And if someone falls in we want to pick up that person. There are hundreds here everyday reading but not able to answer unless they're members so maybe that's so many reads? Take care. Charry

  • Sorry for your fustration with no posts within 3 hours. I like Charry was out and had not looked at the posts in that amount of time. I hope you give it a chance, when I am in pain I don't have patience and I want answers soon, I hope these posts lets you know that some are interested in how you are doing and how we can help or let you know that we are here to listen.
I hope you find a way to get your MRI done before your visit to the surgeon, that way it makes it one less trip and the sooner you have the pictures to show your problems. I also was sent by my Primary Care for the MRI. If we can help let us know or PM if you like.
    Take care.
  • Sorry I've been out of the forums today. I know it's frustrating to be bounced around and not get anywhere. Why will it take so long to see the surgeon, are you in the UK? Sometimes I wish there was nationalized healthcare because of the astronomical costs here in the US. Are you on any pain meds? I had retrolisthesis (inward slippage) and it does hurt like hell, and there were other problems to contribute to that as well. Sometimes PT can make the pain worse, it never helped me. Maybe you can push your current doctor into giving you a referral to pain mgt. so you won't have to suffer til you see the surgeon down the road. They don't hurt, you do, and they tend to forget that. I hope you have the opportunity to push that through so that you get some relief while you wait.
  • I too have not been on here that much. I have been off for a couple of days due to personal reasons. I am sorry you did not get a reply. Please do not get frustrated with us. We are here to help, although there are days where a lot are on appts, dealing with family and just are in too much pain to even log on that day.

Shirley, I am sorry about your pain and discomfort.
Please try to be understanding in the post responses.
You had your post only for a couple of hours before someone responded. There are posts that can go on for days without a response.

A lot of has to do with timing. Mostly everyone here has a family or other items that need to be done during the day.
For myself, I was gone from about 6:00 to now 08:09pm.
Tomorrow, I will be out from about 7:30 until noon ( all est time)

People will get to your post, you just have to be patient.
Many people who post rapidly do it so , because the post they are reading has some real significant problems going on. Those get addressed sooner and rightfully so.

Using an analogy, think about coming upon a vehicle accident. You see some people still stuck in the car, while others are walking around. Who do you respond to?

This is not to say your problem is simple or in any way less deserving of discussions. I know this site pretty well and responses you will see, just give it time

I am sorry you feel slightened and the need to stay away from Spine-Health.. That is your choice and your choice alone

And if you decide to return, no ill feelings, but please try to remember, you are not the only member waiting on a response.

  • i was in a lot of pain and feeling very let down by the whole world it felt. i live in the uk and my family doc wont send me pain management as im under a spine specialist. he ignores the fact that i have not seen or heard from him in nearly a year. he has told me to see my family doc for pain relief so round in circles i go again. my doc wont send me for mri i have to wait till i see spine doc.all the while im still managing to hang onto my job working full time and be a wife and mother and grandmother. sometimes the pain and struggle makes me do crazy things like shout and scream at the people who are there for me. namely everyone who read or replied to my message. once again i am so sorry. but my husband is thankful he usually gets the screaming and crying
  • No worries, I think we all get to that point. I am lucky in that I have had no trouble with referrals. Just not so lucky in results. My next dr appointment is Monday, we'll be talking about referral to neurosurgeon. I can't imagine the added frustration from the lack of response from doctors & the healthcare system(s) in general.

I definitely understand about going in circles and only working and trying to sleep, I'm in the same boat right now. Ugh. I haven't posted much because my meds are making it difficult to even complete a sentence when Im talking to someone. This post has taken me about an hour to do.

My mom commented on how depressing this must be for me. I told her that I haven't had any problems with depression (that I can tell) but my frustration level is pretty high these days.

    Hang in there!
  • For sure we all get like that it's normal to be upset. Someone is sure to answer if not you need to post again. I try to answer alot of people but there are hundreds of posts it seems each day. I wonder how many there are? Anyway Take care. Charry
