Good News from Pain mgt!!!

I just wanted to let you all know that I am so thankful that I asked questions on the forum about my Fentanyl 25 patch. Thanks to the validation from others, I got the nerve up to ask pain mgt. Dr. for more help. They are so very strict at the Pain Mgt Center, and I understand why.
I can now get better relief by changing my patch every 48 hours instead of every 72 hours. That might not seem like much to some, but it is a biggie to me. I do not want to increase the strength of my patch until I desperately need to. I realize that I will have to in time. I have truly gotten the best pain relief and the most consistent relief with this patch. The problem that I was having was with break through pain. It took me a few weeks to figure out that all my break through pain was on the third day- change patch day. I started to hear my family say- oh she will feel better once she changes to her new patch. Between that & a level 2 pain going to a 9, & some validation from you kind folks, I moved up my appointment.
So, they listened to me at the Pain Mgt. Center!!! I was so nervous. Not only did they change me to every 48 hours, but they gave me a referral to an ortho. hand specialist for my numb thumb. I guess it directly corresponds with one of my troubled levels in my neck.

I just wanted to share some good news!!

Thank you all!
