Alright, so I'm 23 days out from my next surgery and my doctor gave me a script to cover me up until that day. My insurance however won't fill the full amount because I would have gotten over 180 pills in 30 days (he gave me a 2 week script 2 weeks ago (90 pills)).
I was told that I could have the doc call in an authorization but, it would take 48 to 72 hours to go thru. I was okay with that (3 days worth of withdrawls would not have bothered me) however, I was informed by 3 different pharmacies that the Percocet supply has run dry and they don't know when they would get more. I found a pharmacy that had just enough to cover the Rx but, due to my insurance I would only be able to get 90 pills. So, since I did not want to go without anything at all I told them to fill the script for 90 pills, my luck 3 days would go by and they would sell them all.
What is the deal with the oxycodone supplier? They told me there used to be 3 manufacturers and now there is only 1 and they can't keep up with the demand?
What should I tell the doc? What else could he give me that the pharmacies would have plenty of so I will be able to fill my post surgery Rx's?
