Hi all. Just got back from my 3 month checkup and everything is right on target. Fusion is progressing at an "average" rate and looks good. Doc said it'll be getting pretty solid in another 3 months and solid by a year (or a bit earlier).
I talked to him about some aching I was feeling above the fusion site and about my morning achey, stiff back. Apparently they are due to scar tissue. Doc said the muscles and scar tissue contract when asleep and as they stretch and warm up in the morning they relax. He said I'd probably be dealing with this early stiffness the rest of my life. (I actually thought I was feeling the instrumentation.)
Seems like I've read somewhere on this forum about massage for the scar tissue. Can anybody tell me anything on this subject???? Also, any other suggestions for increasing flexibility??
oh, PS..he is giving me Celebrex and helping me get off Lortab at my request. I think the Lortab is having a negative effect on my mood. My hub and friends have been commenting on my irritability and mood swings. Don't need that! Need to get back to my charming self (lol).
