hi everyone,i;ve been told twice now that no one will ever touch my back or neck with a 10 foot pole...why would drs even say this?one is my pm the other was and oth.makes me think i;m redflaged somehow.

  • Be that they feel there is more risk to you than benefit from surgery.

Have you asked either of them to clarify it for you? Might put your mind at ease and even give you a direction to pursue. Say for instance they say it's due to XYZ portion of your injuries. Well then you search for a specialist in XYZ injuries and see if you can find help.

    Just a thought anyway.

  • Yes, I was told them same thing by my neurologist. Since I have metal in my neck that no other surgeon would touch my spine. My surgery was done by an ortho spine specialist. I guess there is too much risk. All the same, I am never going to be cut on again.

  • the same thing i think that the surgeons are too worried that they will make our problems a lot worse
  • I had went to three different surgeons to see if they will take my pain away by helping me. I was told flat out that they will not touch me due to my severe problems, yet I get stuck having severe pain up and down my leg stabbing pain in my lower back near tailbone area. I have three disc that herinated last year to one actually did this year I think.

I'm fixing to go to another doc in ATL, GA to see if the can do something for me. I can't stand my pain. I'm on Fentanyl patch 25mcg but I have lots of break through pain what can you do for them huh?

I pray they find somebody for you, its hard knowing your in pain and nobody will touch you, its like we have a diease and they are scared of us. That's how I feel.
