had discectomy 2-27-08 6 inch incision.still some swelling and sore at L4/L5.pain in right foot and leg every step i take.both legs get numb and very cold!leg weakness also tired of the pain so i thought i would vent a little too people who understand!was on hydocodone 2years pain mgt changed me too avinza last week no change so far.these are w/c docs also.just tired of hurting,thankfull i have a place to vent finally!


  • That's what we are here for. I am sorry to hear of your frustrations and struggles with pain. I hope you continue to seek answers to the way you are feeling.

    Have you thought about getting another opinion from another doc. I am in the process of being referred to a neurosurgeon as I am still in pain 7 months post op L5/S1 ALIF. I'm not trying to say my orthopedic surgeon did anything wrong, however, he's said there isn't anything more he could do for me.

    I definitely understand how discouraging and frustrating it is to still be hurting after going through with surgery and post op healing.
