Went skiing!

I'm not quite 5 months post-op C5-6 ACDF and I went downhill skiing at Grand Targhee Ski Resort yesterday! A friend of mine has a 4year old boy and she wanted to take him for his first time. I used to teach children's skiing in Colorado years ago so she wanted me along for some "expert advice". I skied down the bunny slope backwards and bent over in front of him dozens of times, teaching him the basics and stopping him from going too fast.

It was a beautiful, sunny day with perfect snow conditions so after he got tired, we decided to do a little "big people" skiing, too. We took several runs to the top of the mountain, but stayed on the groomed, blue diamond runs for safety's sake. We finished the day off with a couple beers and pizza. The only thing that hurts today are my quad muscles. What a great day!
