Firstly good quality forum!!!
I need some help with some results and interpretation if possible?
History: I suffer with Hypermobilty and have audible clicking with it in the spine and other joints, i can twist and the bottom section of my back clunks loudly in both directions. I have had sciatica previously which has travelled in both legs and overweight.
I had a fall in Nov 08 and my symptoms and have got worse since then. I had numbness in my lower spine and muscle spasms. I had pain in both buttocks and pain and dull aches down the back of the legs and calfs. Numbness in the feet (outer) section and had one episode of incontinence. At L5 on the left side is very sore and tender with pain. I found the lumbar region stiff and clicks alot with pain. I have been off since feb from work.
Medication: Diclafenic, Tramadol and valium.
I had an MRI done urgently results were:
"The vertebral alignment and marrow signal are normal. Last three lumbar discs are degenerate with focal annular bulges causing mild thecal impression.
At L5-S1 level, there is a posterior left paracentral disc protrusion, but no significant thecal sac cor nerve root compression. Spinal canal is capacious and adequate. The conus medullaris appear normal. The posterior elements are unremarkable.
Degenerative changes in the last three lumbar discs, but no significant neural compression."
I am awaiting to see a ortho specialist shortly.
