I am 2 months out of surgery I had 3 discs herniated, and wore a hard collar 6 weeks straight after surgery , and weaned myself off after 6 weeks as the dr. ordered. now i'm having major headaches almost daily, pain centered over right eye area and stabbing, at this point nothing much is helping, and my dr. is out of town due to a death in family so I can't get any answers from him at this point.

  • Can you go to the ER? Maybe they would do an MRI or get another neuro consult. Take care and hope the pain eases up. Charry
DDD of lumbar spine with sciatica to left hip,leg and foot. L4-L5 posterior disc bulge with prominent facets, L5-S1 prominent facets with a posterior osteocartilaginous bar. Mild bilateral foraminal narrowing c-spine c4-c7 RN
  • its only natural that you would have headaches after using a collar.Your neck muscles are weak and now holding your head up without it is difficult for the muscles.A persons head is not light!!! LOL once your muscles get stronger the headaches will eventually go away
  • I also am having headaches. I had surgery last Thursday and the pain in my neck and shoulders would not be so bad if not for the headaches. I am in a soft colar.Anyone else have or are having these types of headaches? The headaches is the reason for the surgery, but these are different.they go up from around the back of my neck/shoulders and up to the front into my eye on the left side. The Doctor did find a nerve that he had to free up in my neck.
I had surgery for C-5-6 and C-6-7. from the front.
