Does anyone know if severe foraminal stenosis can cause carpal tunnel ? And can an EMG show carpal tunnel when it is really originating from the foramen?

  • I really don't know the answer, but I have carpal tunnel in both wrists, diagnosed by EMG, and also cervical foraminal stenosis. Which came first? The chicken or the egg? :D

  • please google double crush neve entrapment syndrome or double crush syndrome. CTS is probably from your neck actaully. CTS is misdiagnosed in many cases involving foraminal stenosis. When you read up on this syndrome it will make a lot of sense.
