I was wondering if anybody knew if Skelaxen or Baclofen
can raise or lower white and red cell counts. I'm
taking skelaxen 3-4x a day and read that those could be
side effects. My pharmacist says that those drugs are
fat soluble and do stay in the fat cells. Any input on
this. Thanks.

that many medications that are deigned for muscle spasms and such have some negative effects. I wish I could provide you with more details, but I do know that my doctor wants me to have blood work done between 30 and 45 days. I have been using Zanaflex for muscle spasms. Hopefully there is some chemist out there that can explain in detail why. But having blood work done frequently while using any form of muscle relaxer is a good thing

for muscle spasms. My Dr. did not mention monitoring my blood work. I recently had blood work and there were no abnormal readings. Baclofen has dramatically reduced the spasms in my leg. I do not experience any side effects from the med. I have been using it for about 8 months. I also take calcium and magnesium

    Have a pain free day!
  • Can attack your immune system, and are prescribed for maleria this is why you have to have regular blood tests . normally its every month..well every 4 weeks, this is to check the white cell level to see if its abnormal. If your white cell raises this could mean there is somthing wrong , like infection or medication.
