does nerve damage in the spine heal?

  • she has no sensation to tell her when she has to have a bowel movement or to urinate?Do these nerves heal and what kind of time line are we looking at? Please help. efaye

    That is a very difficult question to answer.
    Only because I could say
    YES, given enough time, nerve damage/problems can heal
    NO, if the problem went on for a long period of time before being corrected, there is always a chance for permanent nerve damage.

    There are so many different factors that go into this. Discuss this with your doctor to see what they believe
