I have had the steroidal injections, and now nerve rhizotomies on both sides of my lower back and still no relief. I am taking tylenol III with codeine but it doesnt even touch the pain. I dont know what to do next other than just live with it. I am very frustrated.

Today I was at a conference where I had to stand for about 2 hours by the time I was done my back hurt so bad I had to lay down for several hours to be able to handle the pain. Anybody have any other alternatives I should consider. My condition appears to be the nerves in my lower back are on fire all the time. sensitive to touch as in go thru the roof if touched.

  • Are you taking any nerve pain meds? I'm taking lyrica but in a few weeks may be going on to cymbalta. I also take amitriptyline at night. I would review your meds with your Dr. Tyl 3 is for minor pain and it wouldn't even touch nerve pain. I hope you can get some relief. Try ice/heat also if tolerable for 20 minutes twice day. I hear it takes a long time for rhizotomies to work. Do you have short term disability at work? Good luck and take care. Charry
