wasnt sure were to post it:

Hi! Im a 21 year old female.

I was told i have some very slight scoliosis, about 2 or 3 years ago by a doctor. Ive always had some back pain but in the recent months its gotten worse. My back is in almost constant pain and i feel the need to "crack" it all the time as well as my neck. The last 2 years have been kinda stressful for me and I know that can give you knots and stuff but is there a reason why my back always hurts and needs to be cracked beside my slight scoliosis..which couldnt have gotten that much worse in 2 years could it?

thanks all!

  • I don't know what's causing your pain but I think you should see a back specialist who can order tests like x rays, ct, or MRI to see what's going on. Do you have nerve pain or have trouble sitting, walking, or standing? The sooner you can get in with the doctor, the better it will be for you so you get this taken care of. I'm sorry that you're having to put up with this at 21 but know that there are many others that are the same age as you or younger that suffer through these things. Take care and I hope you feel better soon.
  • Have you seen a neurosurgeon, by chance?

When I was getting fitted for my TSLO brace, I was told that particular brace is used for people who have scoliosis. Maybe you have already tried this, but wanted to throw it out there.

I am sorry to hear of your constant pain and the quicker you can get in to see your doctor, the better it will be for you.

We will be hoping for the best for you... take good care of yourself and keep us posted.

  • I used to crack my back all the time on the couch squatting on the floor or a chair. Not that cracking caused my problems but I have arthritis in the facet joints from a herniated disc. But I have arthritis in my neck and I have to crack it. I asked my Dr for a cervical MRI and she said no I can wait and talk to the Neurologist. But if I were you I would get an MRI and find out for sure and then they can treat it. I wish you all the best and to get help while you're young. Take care. Charry
